Strength For Large Loads

Car hauler trailers, and equipment transport trailers are a little different animal.  These are intended to carry vehicles - often really heavy vehicles - so the trailers must be strong in ways that other trailers are not.

Many trailers carry a dispersed load - meaning the load is spread out over the trailer.  On the other hand, Car Hauler and Equipment Transport Trailers carry the heavy loads often at only 4 points - the points of contact of the 4 wheels.  In engineering terms, this is "point loading", and it the trailer must be strong where ever your machinery points of contact happen to be.
