Description

Description

This 4-post shop press is super heavy-duty — up to 50 Tons for this Hydraulic Press — with options for 20 Ton and 30 Ton as well.  Use it for applications where perpendicularity and/or parallelism are important.  Adjust the 4 posts independently to make the surfaces as flat and/or parallel as you have the ability to measure.

This press will handle the large jobs.  Not just the high force requirements, but also large parts.  The 4 posts can be as long or short as needed, which gives the press a very large working height.  Move the top plate up or down to suit.  While posts shown in the image are on the shorter side, they come in many lengths.  Build the press for the size you need.

Because the upper reaction beam is infinitely adjustable, this hydraulic press will also do the small jobs.  Sure, it will handle up to 50 Tons, but choose a smaller prime mover (jack), or even a screw jack for maximum control, and this press does all the little stuff too.

The Anvil here is just one of many possibilities.  Use it per the design, or make others with the features for a specific job.  Because the anvil can switch out with other styles, it’s easy to make one for whatever your jobs require.

Or, do you need something a little simpler?  We also offer a 2-Post Press!  The 4 posts offer better control of parallelism while pressing, but it does take a little longer to adjust.  If you don’t need that control, the 2-Post Hydraulic Press is certainly a good option.

Both of these hydraulic shop press plans are brutally tough, and will serve well for a very long time.  Make your choice based on the need for simplicity or for max control.

More About The Design Features

More About The Design Features

The 4-post 20 ton – 50 ton shop press is especially heavy duty with a design to help secure position for perpendicularity and/or parallelism during pressing operations.  Each leg is infinitely adjustable to meet a wide variety of size requirements while exactly locating the upper press beam.  This gives infinite options for whatever working height you need.

Incidentally, if you find you need more height later, simply change the 4 posts for longer ones.  For small action, set the press on a stand if needed for a different working height.

Design options include hydraulic press capacities of 20 tons, 30 tons, and up to a full 50 tons.  A max of 100,000 lbs force!  This is not a wimpy Chinese mail order tool.  This design will take the full hydraulic press force without complaining.

The anvil attaches directly to the hydraulic jack giving direct force application.  Also, any number of anvil variations or attachments can easily substitute and meet the job or project requirement you have.

Press construction requires steel cutting and drilling.
Max Load Capacity is up to 50 tons.*

Plans include easy to follow, fully illustrated instructions as well as engineering options for 20 Ton, 30 Ton and 50 Ton capacity.  For more about the plans, please also see plans sample pages.
