Description

Description

The 5′ x 10′ – 3500# utility trailer is a great choice for so many jobs and reasons.  This is a torsion axle design with full Engineering to support all the things you may need to do with it.  It has all the same awesome features and functionality as our traditional 5 x 10 Leaf Spring suspension design.

Options on 5' x 10' - 3500# Utility Trailer PlansThe trailer is strong, by design, using Rectangular Tube, C-Channel, and Angle.  It is a flat bed first, with all the needed strength.  So, build it flat, or add sides and other options for function.  Sides are not needed for strength like some of our competitors.

Plans include all the drawings, along with easy to follow, illustrated step by step instructions, and lists for materials and components.  Then, there are options for customizing, and components for those things as well.

Make this 5′ x 10′ – 3500# utility trailer work for you.  We give the basics, then you choose the options.  While many options are in the images on this page, that is not all.  Also, please see the accordions below for more option information.  Plus, you can add customizations of your own.  Build It The Way You Want It.

We have alternate sizes — like 5×8 or 6×10 — if that works better.
If you prefer leaf springs on this 5×10, we have plans for that too.

More About The Design Features

More About The Design Features

We recommend you look through the plans and many options, then choose the ones that will make the trailer perfect for you.  Use these ideas, or some of your own.  A top, sides or tailgate.  Maybe a ramp, a tongue mounted toolbox, tie-down bars, or something unique.  Use these plans as a base, then customize it perfect.

Options with 5' x 8' - 3500# Torsion Axle Trailer Plans
Since there are many options, you can build the trailer how you want.  This is one set of options shown with the 5′ x 8′, yet the 5′ x 10′ – 3500# has the same options. The trailer is just a little longer.

5′ x 10′ – 3500# Torsion Axle Trailer Technical Information

  • True trailer frame size is 5 ft. 2″ wide by 10 ft. 3″ long — for a full usable 5′ x 10′ deck size, even when adding sides.  It’s just a little bigger than tradition, because we think size of the cargo it will hold is the right measure for utility trailer size.
  • Overall length — including the tongue — is approximately 174 inches.  (Can vary with some options.)
  • Trailer deck height depends on design options including the torsion arm start angle.  Spacer blocks can increase deck height even more.  All explained in the plans.
  • Max capacity (depending on options) is 5′ x 10′ – 3500# * which includes the trailer weight.
  • True Torsion Axle Utility Trailer Design — Engineered for long life — even when fully loading the torsion axle.
  • While the plans have the specific steps, there is even more.  Check out all the trailer and construction tips to get your trailer built.
