Description
Description
Like the smaller 5′ wide ATV trailer, this one is a foot wider and 6″ longer to easily haul more gear to the fun. This trailer design is specifically for 2 ATV’s and includes space for the ramps to easily load and unload. Saddle it up to easily haul your ATV’s.
It will easily handle 2 full size ATV’s. While the design is an ATV trailer, don’t let that stop you. It also makes a great utility trailer, or UTV trailer. The ATV features also work well to handle the extra jobs.
The smaller size (5’x 10.5′ deck) is a little narrower and slightly sorter – more for a mid-size SUV or Truck. This is the larger size (6’x 11′ deck), which is perfect for towing behind a full-size vehicle. The larger deck gives a little extra space to carry the inevitable extra gear. Both trailers have a single axle, 3500 lbs. preferred, and come with lots of options for customizing them to your needs.
Note: The actual bed size is a little wider than 6′ and a little longer than 11′. See the full specs in the accordion tabs below.

More About The Design Features
More About The Design Features
For Strength and simplicity, our trailers use steel beams with triangulation to make them stiff. Other trailer designs are weaker, so they require short sides for adequate strength. These are designed strong from the frame up.
Stability is also achieved by design from the frame up by applying the best design fundamentals. Even things like a tongue that’s long enough for proper vehicle spacing and allows good maneuverability.
There there are loads of options for Versatility to make life easier — designed into the plans of our ATV trailer. Things like axle and brake options for load variations and for bed height, various tie-down locations and ways for mounting them, sides (if you want them on an ATV trailer), plus bed material options and a fold down tailgate/ramp.
Finally, there are several Options. Here is a partial list, some of which appear in the animated image:
- Ramps, and the “Hidden under the bed” storage option.
- Bed Material & Height Options.
- Front Storage / Shield Options.
- Optional Toolbox and Storage is also an option.
- Infinitely Variable Tie-down Options. Plans include many.
- Tailgate Options.
- And More … All specifically designed for ATV’s.
These ATV Trailer Plans are a great base, but they don’t show every possible customization. When you build the trailer yourself, you can add things of your own to make it perfect. Build it to meet your needs!
Plans also include a full list of materials, suggested parts and sources, complete illustrated instructions, full detailed drawings, (and more . . . ).

Notes for Success
* Trailer load capacity depends on all the parts and materials, as well as the craftsmanship in building. All Mechanical Elements trailers are engineered to perform as stated when built as defined with proper care in construction – including parts, material, construction techniques, weld integrity, assembly methods, and finishing. Capacity for this trailer also requires proper choices for parts such as the hitch, axle(s), wheels, tires, safety chain, decking, bolts, pins, etc. Please make sure component load capacities match or exceed the trailer total capacity. Do not exceed manufacturers limits.
For trouble-free trailer life, think care and safety. Please select fastening methods to handle how and where the trailer will operate – including vibration, proper fastener types, bolt grades, torques, and nut types (like lock nuts). Then, be smart about loading the trailer, load distribution, tire pressure, tire condition and the mechanics of towing. We want you safe to enjoy your trailer for a long time ahead. Always use proper safety and securing equipment when loading and towing a trailer.
