As an excellent tandem axle, 6 ft x 14 ft trailer plans.  At 6 ft width, this trailer is the right size for a lot of uses, especially for hauling big toys!  Plans include full drawings along with instructions, cut list, and components list.  It’s ready for a great DIY build.

We tried to discontinue these plans because they have a lot of overlap with other trailers on the site, but these remain a popular seller, so we are keeping them.  The plans are great, so if this is the size you’re looking for, please enjoy them.

Like all the trailers in our plans, this one has uncompromising strength and many options so you to customize it to meet your needs.  It has a 7000# capacity, meaning tandem 3500# axles.  These 6 ft x 14 ft trailer plans are available for download immediately after payment.  You can have them in just a few minutes.

The base trailer is a strong platform for all the things you might need it for.  Then, for all the many jobs a trailer may need to do, we provide many options including ramps, sides, decking options, tie-down points and more.  Here are the details.

6 ft x 14 ft Trailer Design Details

  • * Trailers from these plans have beds with actual size 1.5″ wider than 6 ft., and 3.5″ longer than 14 ft.
  • Overall length including the tongue is 52″ – 58″ longer than the bed length. (See image with dimensions.)
  • Trailer bed height depends on design options and ranges from 16″ up. (Bed height shown is approx. 19″.)
  • Total combined axle capacity (depending on options) is 7000 lbs.* Actual loading must include the trailer weight.
  • Trailer weight will vary depending on design options — Typically 1200 lbs or more with decking.  Options, will increase the weight.
  • Additions like sides, or tail gate, or toolbox, or spare tire, or ramps, etc. will increase weight.
  • Several options are in the plans to give a variety of function.  Some options are mutually exclusive, and not all options are in the pictures on this page.
  • Plans also include customization ideas for special uses – from ATV & motorcycles, to trash or furniture or landscape needs.
