Description

Need a heavy duty trailer?  Try this one with either the 6000 lb. or 7000 lb. capacity option. Both are in these 6×10 Utility Trailer Plans.  The design is tough, intentionally for those needing the extra strength.  And, it’s tough from the frame up, not requiring extra things like sides to hold the weight.  (Of course sides make a good option, but they are not required for trailer frame strength.)

Heavy Duty Trailer Options

The first option is obviously the choice for 6000 lbs or 7000 lbs capacity.  (Or, use a 5200 lb axle.  That also works well.)  Next is the perimeter for sides or a tailgate.  Choose how high, and choose options for hidden tie-down locations.  Then, choose the deck material and style.  These trailer plans include many more options and variations to customize for your specific needs.  See the images for some of the options.

Please read the information in the tabs below for more insight.  We always recommend that you Maximize the usefulness or your unique heavy duty trailer, by adding the options you need.  Build it to meet your needs.  Build a better trailer, and build it to last!

  • Deck height is a factor of design options, and will range from 16″ up.  (Standard is about 19″.)

  • Finished weight depends on design choices, yet a typical flatbed sprung weight is around 800 lbs.
(Total weight is more like 1100 lbs complete.)
  • Weight increases with certain bed material options, and things like sides, tailgate, toolbox, etc..

  • Choose customization for special uses – ATV & motorcycles, or trash, or furniture, or landscape needs.
