Plans For Deck-Over Trailers
For a workhorse, there is nothing quite like a great Deck-Over Trailer. And now you have found the source of the best plans available. We have several sizes and various capacities to choose from.
At Mechanical Elements, our goal is to provide the best plans around - and we do it for Deck-Over Trailers too. From the smaller, single axle deck-over trailers, to the big boys on the page above. The plans you get from Mechanical Elements are the best value around.
All of our trailer plans include a ton of information. From the illustrated step-by-step instructions, to the many views and notes in the drawing pages (blueprint sheets) - we serve value.
Trailer Plans Side Note:
Yes, in the old days they coined the term "Blueprint" because the process of duplicating a large format drawing gave a page with a light blue tint, and dark blue drawing lines. Now, of course, we do it in Black and White - even color sometimes - but the old nomenclature of "Blueprints" still hangs around.
It does not matter what you call it, Blueprints or Drawings is fine. We often call them simply "Plans" because it includes more than just the drawings. Ah, but you can say "Blueprints" too, and we know what you mean.
Our plans come in PDF format, so you can print them in any size you want. And, I suppose you can print them in blue for nostalgia if you wish.
If You Want Quality Trailer Plans
You are in the right place for the best. Our Deck-Over Trailers plans include a lot more than just the excellent detailed drawings. The package also includes a document with a list of trailer parts to purchase as well as a cut list of materials. Parts to purchase are like wheels, axles, lights, hitch, etc. And the materials include the steel, the wood (and other deck options), aluminum if needed, etc..
The instructions document includes a section of "Engineering Considerations" with tips about variations, discussion about areas of care, and info about where you can make changes. We encourage customizing these deck-over trailers, because this is how you can best achieve your goals.
Finally, plans include DXF files so you can get special parts made - like the tail plate which has alignment slots, taillight holes, and ramp access openings. The "DXF" files are not Human readable. They contain CAD information to tell a machine how to cut-out a part. Most people cannot open or read them. So, give them to a vendor to have the parts cut from Sheet material according to the drawing notes. All in the plans.
We wish you the best of luck with your Deck-Over Trailers build. It is an excellent project.
